Breakfast, Business & More is Des Moines’ premier morning networking event which allows busy professionals the chance to network and to exchange opportunities.
We host quarterly networking events without the membership fees. We’ll provide each of you with a registrant list including name, business name and email address which makes follow-up easy! Your time is extremely valuable; that’s why you can expect our events to keep to the following schedule:
- 8:00am – 8:15am: Register, grab breakfast and COFFEE!
- 8:15am – 8:45am: Each individual introduces themselves to the large group with their name and the name of their business.
- 8:45am – 9am: Open Networking
Parking: Free parking is available in the Plymouth Church parking lot.

If you’re charged with business development within your organization or if you’re a free agent like myself, it’s good to be familiar with all of the free networking opportunities in the area.
Meet Metro Business Friends Networking Group. Meetings are every Thursday 8:30-9:30am. Some people arrive late or leave early depending on their family and business schedule. They ask that people attend at least once a month to maintain their exclusive job category.
One minute self-introductions are followed by a 10-20 minute presentation by a member, guest or outside expert. They finish up with announcements and general networking.
They meet on the 2nd floor at Price Chopper on 86th St. in Johnston. Each person may purchase their own food or beverage at the deli and proceed upstairs to the conference room. They currently have no membership fee.
Business Socials are hosted 4:30-7:00pm by Metro Friends on the 5th Thursday of the month (October 27th in 2016).

I was fortunate enough to participate in The Meyvn Group‘s Leaders to Go learning laboratory last month. I highly recommend this two-day learning experience to any and all individuals. Regardless of where you are in your profession or personal life, you will definitely take something away from the experience.

A few weeks ago I had the distinct honor of speaking to Waukee High School’s APEX program participants about how to use LinkedIn. This group of students is so inspiring! They never cease to surprise me with their sense of professionalism. I’m always reflecting on whether or not I was this well put together at their age!
